Self Care Monday

It's the Monday after Thanksgiving. You are either home from a vacation/trip, or cleaning up the last of the mess from house guest and visitors. It seems as though during this time of year our self care goes out the window. We are rushing around doing errands and move from one thing to the next. It's no wonder we feel exhausted and break down with a cold in the winter time.

Yes, your candle is burning on both ends.
The glow can be quite bright and hypnotizing because you're "doing and going" non stop. I'm the first one to admit I enjoy the hustle and bustle of this time of year. I actually enjoy the crowds at Costco and the grocery store. However, I don't want to get burned out and snap at my loved ones. That's not a good memory to be had by anyone.
On Saturday I decided to get our Holiday cards ordered. I was going to do this task fast so I could enjoy some family time before my husband left for a trip for four days.
Well, I could write a book or two about how not everything is quick and easy.
This lesson is shoved in front of my face constantly. You think I would know it by now. Long story short, I got up early Saturday morning and worked for nearly three hours sifting through my pictures to make a nice card and memory book. I used Apples iPhoto app to make the book. I clicked on "buy book" and you guessed it... Apple doesn't make books any more!!! I was navigated to another app that would make my book for me (meaning, I'd need to start from scratch)! After complaining to the entire family (bad habit, that I'm trying to break) I decided to use Shutterfly to make the cards and book. So of course that ran into Sunday. Picture projects just plain ol' take time!!
The reason I'm telling this story is that this project took more time than I planned and it dipped in to my family time and self care time. That's just not a good thing! I don't need much self care, but I do need to keep it in the forefront of my mind.
So... along with a bunch of other people on the internet, I've declared Monday to be my self care day! What does that look like for me?
1. Getting my mind organized! It's the BEST gift you can give yourself! (checking in on my happiness/gratitude).
2. Going for a walk either by myself or with a great friend (thank you Kari for walking the Ridge Line Trail with me this morning)!
3. Making my list- Thought Download.
4. Taking a bath (shutting my eyes and letting my body rest and float).
5. Getting things done that I want to do, not what others are expecting me to do.

Life Coaching- 2 FREE Sessions
Life Coaching is not about giving advice or focusing on traumas of your past, but rather showing you your thoughts and how they are impacting your life so that you are empowered to choose different thoughts and ultimately get different results in your life.
I am happy to coach on anything you'd like to work on. It doesn't have to be about organizing. It can be anything that you find yourself dwelling on and not making forward progress in your life, i.e. a situation with a friend, sister, brother, husband, mother, teacher, etc.
As your Life Coach I would not empathize with you, cry with you or judge you… it's different than talking to you as you would your friends, sisters, brothers, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers.
I would be a COACH.
I would simply help show you what's going on in your brain and we would look at that together. We would talk about any problem or frustration you are having or anything you want to change about your life.
I'm offering your first 2 sessions for FREE!!
Offer Ends: December 31, 2018
