Who's the Boss?

Did you know you have a toddler that throws tantrums in your brain? But that's ok (sometimes). That toddler has a job. The toddlers job is to keep us safe, yet when you want to do something uncomfortable or out of the ordinary, "it" throws a tantrum!
Humans are separated from other species by having a prefrontal cortex. That's why we evolve as fast as we do. If you find yourself in a rut of not making progress or getting things done think about who's the boss.
No more excuses, and no more mental drama.
Next time your little "toddler" wants to throw a fit, tell yourself this:
"Please don’t let your brain be in charge. Don’t rely on default programming.
Your brain is a tool-it’s not the boss of you.
So many of us get this wrong.
We let our brain’s tendency to seek pleasure and comfort direct our actions.
So we end up overdoing pleasure and feeling sick.
We let our brain’s design, to look for danger, leave us stressed and afraid.
We walk around filled with anxiety and avoidance.
But when we understand our brain and how it's designed…
We can manage it and use it.
We need to tell it what to think.
I know it sounds basic, but if you don’t, you will needlessly suffer.
Program your brain with the information you want it to know and believe.
It’s all optional.
Decide what your brain will do for you.
Then you will be living on purpose.
