Thank you for visiting my blog today.

I would like to start this post with us all taking a DEEP BREATHE... Following this post I will break down how to do each step so you do not feel overwhelmed. Trust me that is the last thing that I want to have happen. Because if that happens, most likely you won't get started and then the mental chatter of frustration will never go away. You can do this... NO MORE LATER, the time is now! We will break this down to doable tasks, baby steps! WARNING: things will look messy before they look clean! Read all of the stages before you begin. Organizing is an ON GOING process. It takes months and sometimes years to get it in working fashion. Also, keep in mind that there are different stages to our lives which will change the organizing of our lives. Your systems you use as a single person to a married person changes. Then, add in babies and toddlers... then those precious babies grow up, and once again your organization will change. Not to mention the curve balls that life pitches to us. Aging parents, accidents, health issues, etc. But don't you worry, we will all help each other. Our lives are really not all that different. AND, what is organized for you (what makes you feel content) might not be the same for me or your BFF. Perfection doesn't live in my house. Life is messy and we will all do our best!

Start with one area, or one room, i.e. your shoes, or make up drawer, or linen closet. You might want to take a picture so you can look back at the progress you made and give yourself a pat on the back once you see that you can do this!

Decluttering

  1. Get rid of all trash, broken items and food.

  2. Bag up any items that you wish to donate.

  3. Sell or consign anything of value that you want to sell.

  4. Collect anything that belongs in another room and then deliver to that room.

  5. Make a list of any organizing items you need/want to purchase (make sure to measure your spaces).

Organizing

  1. Step back and get a big picture of your space and make an actionable plan.

  2. Combine like items.

  3. Match your items to the space.

  4. Buy organizers.

  5. Clean and finish.

Efficiency

1.Use- continually use this organized system

2. Plan- make lists of to do’s. Your reward will be more time in your day!

3. Refine- organizing is a process. Make adjustments as you live in your newly organized space.

4. Execute

Keep it Sweet and Neat,

Stephanie
