Back to School: The Second "New Year"

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

I certainly do love the beginning of the school year! Routines, schedules, order - that's my love language! But to be fair, it is bitter sweet. I am so happy to see our three children thriving and growing, yet I am sad that the "little" age is getting farther and farther away. Especially this school year. Our oldest is now driving and as I stood on the driveway watching her drive off to school my heart swelled with pride and my thoughts screamed "Wait! Come Back, I'm not ready for this"! AND... boy has my driving schedule cleared up! One less job for this stay at home mom!

So, what I am going to put on my to do list now that I have uninterrupted time to myself between the hours of 8 am and 2:30 pm. Besides a quick workout in the morning, I'll either be at a clients house creating simple solutions for a simple life for that family or I'll be working on my business and putzing around the house.

My goals for this school year:

  1. Do my Sunday Basket EVERY Sunday. My favorite organizer Lisa Woodruff over at Organize365 came up with this great idea. I already had something similar in place but I have decided to fine tune it with her help.

  2. Purge my filing system that I keep in my home office.

  3. Meal Plans - write them out and shop at the beginning of the week. I recently calculated my time spent driving to the grocery store and shop time. I waste a lot of time visiting the grocery store four times a week. I'd rather go once or twice a week and use my precious time do other things that I love.

  4. Kid's make dinner once a week- My plan is that with my once a week grocery trip I will have the ingredients on hand that the kids can use to make the family dinner once a week. I'll keep it simple for them, i.e. spaghetti, or baked chicken and rice. My kids are definitely old enough to help with this household chore. Maybe I'll start out by bribing them with suggesting that I'll do the dishes the night that they cook.

  5. Update my Website and Blog

  6. Organize my receipt file

What are your goals? Take a moment to write a few down. The power of writing down your goals empowers you to take action.

Keep it Sweet and Neat,

Stephanie
